Disclosure Statement

This statement explains our role, our finance partner chain, and the key facts you should know before using Kiwi Car Finance.
Who operates Kiwi Car Finance
Kiwi Car Finance is a lead-generation referral service based in New Zealand. It operates under the Kiwi Car Finance name and any other brand listed on our home page. Kiwi Car Finance is not a lender, finance company, credit provider, or broker.
Our finance partner chain
We pass your application to 1 Stop Motors and its finance providers, who specialise in second-chance and imperfect-credit applications. With your consent, 1 Stop Motors may run a credit check and collect your bank statements to assess your creditworthiness before a lender decides.
FMA regulation
Our finance partners are regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA). Brokers in our chain are registered as Financial Service Providers under the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008.
Fees and commissions
Kiwi Car Finance is free for you. You pay no application fee, no service fee, no commission. We receive a referral fee from our finance partners when a loan you apply for is completed. This referral fee does not increase your interest rate or the cost of your loan.
Your rate
The pre-approval rate shown to you is the real rate offered by the lender. There is no dealer markup added. The rate is indicative based on the soft credit check and income assessment, and may be refined at the final loan stage if a hard credit check reveals information not disclosed at application. Rates for second-chance applications typically sit higher than mainstream bank rates due to lender risk pricing.
Income documents
Pre-approval is assessed on payslips OR three months of bank statements. This is the model Kiwi Car Finance is built around: working New Zealanders whose income arrives in different shapes, including casual, gig, sole trader, and PAYE.
No guaranteed approval
We do not guarantee approval. Lender criteria apply. Pre-approval is subject to final lender assessment.
Rate lock
Once approved, your lender may hold your rate for up to 14 days. If you do not complete a vehicle purchase in that window, the rate hold expires. You can re-apply at any time at no cost.
Dispute resolution
Complaints about Kiwi Car Finance or any brand it operates: email info@kiwicarfinance.co.nz. Complaints about a lending decision or lender conduct: raise with the lender directly, then escalate to the FSP-registered broker's dispute resolution scheme if unresolved.
